Stop Asking Already

Remember when, a few years after the commencement of the Iraq War, America collectively realized what a bad idea the invasion was.  And the next argument heard, after all the other fallacious ones had passed their date of expiration, was, “now that we have chosen war and wrecked the country, we have a responsibility to see the thing through to a reasonable finish.”  Did we ever know what that finish was, did we really achieve it and was the cost to achieve it reasonable?
Now that the world economy has been sunk by Wall Street and American Banks, the new mantra is, “now that we wrecked the world economy and you’re broke (we got bailed-out, so we’re OK), you, the middle class, have to accept that you will have to work for less money and live at a lower standard of living.”
These scenarios remind me of an overindulged family member who, after wrecking the family car, is given the family work truck, upon which the family depends for their livelihood, and wrecks that.  Finally, the family member is indignant at the other family members for not loaning their bicycles.  When does this madness stop?

Welcome Wage Slavery

Too bad public employees didn't make extra $$ when times were good, as did the private sector.  Oh well, forget public employees, unions, middle class wages and benefits.  Everyone, except rich people, deserves to be, or become poor as punishment for being loyal, tax-paying citizens of the USA.  You deserve nothing from anyone in this country, except to move to another, and that will be the option chosen by many non-military, non-law enforcement technocrats and specialists.  Let the cops and soldiers be lead astray and run things (into the ground), at least they have enough force (guns, etc.) to subdue the population.  This is the beginning of a vicious cycle by which this country endures a revolution or the total tanking of the economy…likely both.  WHEN WILL THE MIDDLE CLASS WAKE-UP, WORK AND VOTE FOR WHAT IS THEIRS. Instead, we will blame each other for our woes caused by CORRUPTED, GREEDY RICH PEOPLE until all is lost and there is nothing left worth any effort.  But all the good jobs won’t disappear, at least not the unsavory ones, which are coveted by the “elites”- you know, prostitution, thug-work, drug dealing.  Can’t you hear the parent-speak now, “I’m so proud of little Susie, she’s been practicing giving…” and “Little Johnny always finds the best dope”.  By the way, for you folks who work with infrastructure and/or design and build it, Australia and New Zealand are hiring…but you probably already know that.
